We went over our new spelling words: turn, birthday, kidnap, quit, employ, bless, better, warthog, elsewhere, enjoy, rainstorm, twig, kind, chocolate, strawberry and Google.
We looked at some Spanish words covering some basic greetings as well as the face, colours and shapes.
We did some comprehension work based around inferencing and comparing and contrasting. And to tie in one of the comprehension tops we looked at some old movies starring Harold Lloyd. Little Miss 8 thought they were hilarious - particularly when he was hanging from the clock!
Today we started a math lesson based on money (US) - it helped us review addition and subtraction which was a much needed lesson.
We looked at the use of periods in writing.
And we talked about the discovery of the Americas and looked at Christopher Columbus in more detail.
We finished up the day watching The Kid starring Charlie Chaplin - Little Miss 8 shed a few tears!
Today we looked at energy resources and their effect on the environment. We did some more work on comparing and contrasting and looked at more mathematics problems involving dollars and cents.
We ended the week with a spelling test (16/16) and an excursion to Park Urpicha seeing as the weather was on our side.
