Our spelling words for the week are cream, buzzing, volleyball, bought, bring, fired, long, search, warm, bringing, fireman, loss, whatever and nineteen.
In Science we talked about work, force and change, simple machines and Little Miss 8 did her section chapter on Force, Energy and Motion and scored 88%.
We also did some work on our Australian unit - specifically the Northern Territory. We mapped some towns and talked about Uluru and wrote out 5 interesting facts in our Australian workbook.
Today we covered the use of apostrophes in contractions and possessives. And for Social Studies we covered more on the explorers - talking about Hernando De Soto and America's oldest city St Augustine.
A beautiful day so we started off the day by going to the park and having a run around.
Spelling City had some new games so Little Miss 8 enjoyed having a look around the new and improved site.
We did simple mathematical expressions in math and talked about the difference between proper and common nouns. We also talked about suffixes and how to break down words if they were difficult to read.
And we talked more about nonliteral meanings such as breath of fresh air, penny pinching, easy street and feather in her cap.
