Day 1
We started off the week with our spelling list: please, point, fifteen, bare, doesn't, hunt, pound, tear, baseball, done, hurry, pray and tearful. Her favourite subject is English so we worked on plot, character and setting both on Time 4 Learning and on Brain Pop. Day 2 We focussed on Math today and finished up the section on multiplication - she did way better than she or I thought she would (her multiplication chart helped) and we will just continue to work on sums so it becomes second nature. Day 3 Today we covered science and looked at Matter and Weight. Then we talked about how things looked different when viewed through a microscope. Day 4 We did some work on the Inuit namely the different styles of their homes and shelters and read some more of our Inuit book "The Eskimo Twins". Day 5 For some reason our spelling wasn't that good this week - we have been a bit preoccupied on other stuff so her spelling test was a bit neglected and she only got 7/13 although she was over the moon with that. :) Today we finished up the subject of Inuits - we discussed some of their religious beliefs and the differences between traditional and modern Inuits. While she did well in some of the individual tests, the overall mark was slightly lower on the final subject test. I think this was more of a reflection on her mood today taking into account the lower than ordinary marks on the spelling as well. We ended the week on a happy note as she knew that she had tried her best and that is all that matters.
