We started the week off well and finished the section on Vikings (she scored 23 out of 25) adding in an extra section about Viking Children which was of particular interest to Little Miss 8. We read Voyage With The Vikings (from the Imagination Station series) which she really enjoyed. And we did some extra work on rune codes just for fun.
We looked at our new spelling list for the week: airport, airplane, clean, haircut, pancake, street, alike, cobweb, eleven, half, past, strike and churn and did some activities on Spelling City.
We also completed the section on prefixes with some additional worksheets to cement in the knowledge.
We started with Spelling City and followed up with study on suffixes with additional worksheets. I also signed up Little Miss 8 on BiblioNasium (https://www.biblionasium.com/sign_ins#tab/all-books) so we can log in all of her reading time to make it easier. We will have to try to do the reading in the morning as it tends to get lost in the evening with everything else that is going on.
Little Miss 8 volunteered to start reading Ivy and Bean and we have been logging her reading onto Biblionasium just for fun. We went over her spelling words and did some more online work on numerical, alphabetical and chronological order. We also started the section on mind mapping.
Little Miss 8 decided she only wanted a 4 day school week this week so today we did both our math and science, completed all of the worksheets and did the spelling test. And what an awesome job she did.
She mastered the rounding numbers section in math and got 20/20. She did her spelling test and got 12/13 which I was very happy about. In Science we discussed the difference between diagrams, sketches, maps and models and talked about inferences and predictions doing some online and offline work. She was a trooper and completed all of her worksheets on all of the subjects and we finished with a smile on our face.
