I spent quite a bit of time organising the kids' travel luggage before our trip and it definitely paid off. Our entire trip saw us catch 3 planes with 4 periods of waiting at the airport and each time the kids dipped into their special bag and pulled out the goodies and toys available.
Little Master 3 enjoyed playing with his carry on garage, Little People and dinosaurs and Little Miss 8 was more into her fashion stencils, drawings and 3DS.
My son attracted quite a bit of attention at the airport in Toronto and we picked up a few extra who were very willing to play with my son's toys - it seems no one else was as organised as we were. There was no sense in putting stuff into my son's luggage that he did not want to play with and likewise with my daughter - their carry on luggage was filled with goodies to make the trip even more exciting for them.
While we had our drama with overtired kids and a 3 year old who wanted to go home and get off the plane at different stages of the flight, overall they were both very good despite the late timing of the flight from Toronto to Lima and the fact that it was an overnight trip. The delay in Lima didn't help any although we managed to catch up the time difference by the time we arrived in Cusco.
We were all very excited when we were approaching the mountains in Cusco as we knew we were nearly there and could get off the plane and relax.
