I am starting to realise that when people give directions in this city, just up the road or around the corner is not quite as close as you think particularly with 2 kids in tow. Today we went on the hunt for some mattresses for our new apartment and while I was happy for the hunt to take us into previously unchartered territory (namely that of San Sebastian), I wasn't quite prepared for how far we would have to walk.
But to cut a long story short, we have found a place (not the one that everyone was talking about as I feared we would probably have to walk another 10 miles to locate that one) that can supply us with some mattresses. What is particularly amusing is that once we purchase the mattress - they don't actually offer home delivery - we have to hail a taxi and put our mattresses of choice on the roof of the taxi to take them to our destination. I am definitely looking forward to that as it should provide a picture perfect opportunity.
The kids are very happy to have their own rooms next week and have already selected their bedding to go with the new mattresses. And I will be looking for some much needed privacy and peace and quiet so I can relax with all those good books I mentioned in my earlier post.
