It was a happy day when I discovered Jerusalen (and no I don't mean Jerusalem as I discovered and visited that city a long time ago!). Jerusalen is an English bookstore in Cusco near to the Plaza de Armas in which you can swap and purchase books which is perfect for an avid reader like me. I don't have many vices but my book reading habit can get quite expensive over time!
The bookstore allows you to swap 2 books for 1 or 1 book plus 8 soles (just over A$3) for 1. That works for me as there are only a limited number of English books sold in the city of Cusco otherwise.
I do know that I can purchase my books electronically but when I work online and am staring at a computer for most of the day, I prefer to curl up in bed with a book rather than an electronic item. Call me old fashioned if you will!
So if you are planning on coming to Peru in the near future - please bring a few choice paperbacks with you (if you can squeeze them into your suitcase) and I will reward you with a personal tour of the city and surrounding areas and maybe even a bed or two!
