While the kids don't participate in trick or treating from home to home, they do dress up and parade in the Plaza de Armas. I took a couple of bags of candy and handed it out and it was like bees to honey. Apparently kids go from store to store to collect candy which seems to work quite well.
We hung out in the Plaza for a couple of hours so we could see the variety of costumes and to watch the kids have fun. Emilia dressed up as Draculaura and after much delibration, Matthew swapped his Batman to a fireman.
While we didn't collect much candy ourselves, I stocked up on the occasion so we had some fruit candy and chocolate marshmallows to devour. Finding good candy here can be difficult as they favour hard candy which I am not a fan of.
Next year we might try going local rather than visiting the plaza so the kids can wander from store to store to collect their own candy.
