While we are more than happy to sample the different local fares (I am slightly more difficult to please being vegetarian), the kids can be even harder to satisfy. To make it easier to adjust we picked up McDonalds the first evening so they could at least get used to the differences in the menu.
For breakfast on our first morning we also took them back to McDonalds to dine on hotcakes until we had familiarised ourselves with the area and the supermarkets and found suitable food which would appeal to the kids.
On our second evening we attempted a Peruvian restaurant to get them used to the fact we were somewhere foreign and to show then that they had to be brave and try something different. We opted for similar but different and they dined on battered chicken and home made fries and I sampled some delicious zucchini soup.
